These two tables contain the 46 basic characters (as well as two obsolete characters) of the hiragana and katakana in the writing script that is taught in Japanese schools. The small numbers from 1 to 4 show where each stroke begins and the order in which the strokes are written. The basic rule, both for the direction in which each stroke is written and for the order in which the strokes are written, is: from left to right, from top to bottom.
We thank the producer of the font for allowing us to use it in the two kana tables. The font also includes over 2,000 kanji, each labeled with its stroke sequence.
