Kanji posters are one of the most popular tools for learning Japanese. They not only provide a quick overview of the kanji that have already been learned and that still to be learned, but can also be real eye-catchers.
We have revised the collection of kanji posters first published here in July 2019, expanding them into nine posters, each in four languages. Each poster contains the 2,136 Jōyō Kanji with one to two readings and / or meanings. The database is based on the four language editions of the book “Japanese Kanji and Kana”. The Kanji are arranged
a) as in “Japanese Kanji and Kana”,
b) according to the 79-radical system as in “The Learner’s Japanese Kanji Dictionary”,
c) in Japanese a-i-u-e-o alphabetical order of their readings,
d) as well as (this is new!) in English alphabetical order of their meanings respectively.
You might find in the list below a poster that you like and that you might want to download (for free) and print out at a copy shop in a desired size - preferably 594 x 840 mm or larger.

Tip: Highlight as you learn
Highlight with a colored marker the kanji that you want to concentrate on during a first pass, or that you have already learned. On subsequent passes, use a different color. This will distinguish the new from the old as you learn it.
